Our chapter
consists of about 40-50 artists, art historians and art critics. Most artists join in order to participate in the exhibits
that we organize, to display artwork in our online gallery, or for the peer support that we provide. Those who become involved
in the chapter often make life-long friendships and find wonderful opportunities to network with other artists with similar
interests.
General Membership Meetings are held 2-4 times a year at which time members are updated on recent chapter activities.
These meetings are great opportunities to meet other members. Non-member guests are welcome to attend.
Basic
Membership fee is $60/year (Includes new fees for national WCA and chapter membership.)

The WCA is over 1200 members strong, and began over 30 years to expand opportunities and recognition for women in
the arts.
The WCA's web site www.nationalwca.org provides details for benefits such as the nation-wide blog, the membership database, insurance, discounts on art magazines
and supplies, and an online gallery. WCA holds the national conference annual conference in February.
E-bulletin
SBAWCA publishes an e-mail bulletin every 2 weeks. Members can send in announcements of exhibitions,
art-related events, Calls for Entries and other information of interest to members.
Education
Members may participate
in the planning of and attend regional and national conferences. There are opportunities to develop professional and leadership
skills by organizing exhibitions and conferences, planning publicity, writing for our publications, collaborating with community
organizations and more.
Exhibitions
Members may participate in local, regional
and national art exhibitions, some of which are curated by experts in the art field. Several exhibitions are offered
each year. Exhibitions have been held in galleries, museums, and community and corporate venues. To view our current Calls for Entries, click here
Newsletters
The chapter publishes a newsletter 2-3 times a year. The national WCA also publishes
a newsletter several times a year.
To view the latest SBAWCA Newsletter, click here.
Networking
Members
connect with one another at membership meetings, social gatherings and peer support groups. National and regional conferences
also provide additional opportunities to meet other artists. Active participation as a volunteer for events is the one of
the best ways to connect with others. Meetings are announced in the E-bulletins and Newsletters.
You can host or attend
(and bring a guest) Artists Circle meetings every months at other SBAWCA studios, where you can bring a piece or two
of your work for discussion.
